Cotton prices likely to go up further from here: Alok Ind

The commerce ministry is expected to announce sops for the textile industry by the first week of January 2010. Cotton in the New York market is at 21-month highs on fund buying. Indian cotton prices are higher as farmers seem to be hoarding. Cotton arrivals have been weak despite a higher crop. Indian cotton prices have seen an all-time high of Rs 27,500 per candy.
