MUMBAI: Shares of Reliance Energy surged Tuesday on reports the company is eyeing a 50:50 joint venture with Indiabulls Real Estate to develop a 6,000-acre multi-product special economic zone in Maharashtra’s Raigad district.

At 11:33 am, the stock was at Rs 1218, up 2.28 per cent on the BSE. Around 5,12,076 shares changed hands against two-week average of 16,65,779 shares. The stock has lost over 26.27 per cent in the past one month.
